I bought a Remington 12A from a member here last year. It came dirty and I cleaned and inspected it piece by piece. It appeared normal in every regard and I reassembled it properly. it pumps smoothly when empty, but when you try to load or extract ammo it turns into a beast. It becomes a 3 handed feat of strength to chamber or extract a round. The cases eject with a double crease on the bottom. Anyone have any ideas as to what might cause the problem?
Any recommendations for a gunsmith to fix it. I got one opinion that she was a parts gun, but I'm not giving up yet.

This same type of problem is being discussed on another thread right now regarding a Winchester model 67 that won't extract shells because they are stuck in the chamber. Concensus on there is because the gun was probably fired the majority of it's life with .22 shorts. Have you tried shooting this with .22 shorts?

I have a 12C (very similar). If your chamber is good...

Look closely at your bolt. Does it have a flat plate style firing pin, or a round one? If it's the round pin, then the bolt is probably newer than the rifle (bolt from a 121). This is popular to see, as the flat plate style are no longer available. Your bolt might need a touch more fitting.

Will look closer at mine this eve, and see if there's anything else that could hamper it.

EDIT:

Also look at your retainer. It will only work if installed one way, but can fit in backwards too! Thin end goes towards the front.
