Rem .308 chambering problem

Tkank you very much to everybody, gave me enough things to check for now. For the reloading, been doing it the same way since I bought the rifle. The man who I bought it from brought me into reloading and I've been using the same equipment since day one. Where I was wrong is I thought you could neck size for ever since it was fired from the same chamber all the time. Tks again

I've never had a problem firing neck sized only for over 30 yrs in the same chamber in a Rem 700 bolt action. I have worn out barrels several times neck sized only.
There is something else wrong.

Neck sizing over full length sizing in some cases can keep the case more centered and concentric within the chamber improving accuracy. Also bumping the shoulder and resizing the body in a body die can change other things like concentricity and case length.

I'm with Maynard on this one. I used to neck size only, but have gone back to full length sizing all of my 308 brass used in competition (F-Class). Main concern was accuracy and reducing the number of variables - taking all cases back to the same starting point (ie: bumping the shoulder back) each time is better IMHO. When neck sizing only, some cases were more difficult to chamber than others and I was still FL resizing every 4 uses as well.
