Agree with mpwolf. If the action is bedded correctly the barrel pressure points shouldn't be needed. The old school of thought used to be that pressure on the barrel could improve accuracy. The 2 screws were used to provide that and even more extreme some electronic barrel bedding systems were used. It has now become widely accepted that free floated barrels generally are best for accuracy.
