Rem 597 Trigger Problem

Today I replaced the standard trigger with a VQ trigger. When I was at the range, 3 times the trigger failed to fire - it was "loose". I let it reset and tried again and it fired.

Any ideas on what to try or where to look? The standard trigger worked fine.

Found the problem. The trigger spring had come off it's pin. I noticed it from the pictures at rimfirecentral.

Thanks for the link, I would have been weeks figuring it out without it.
