many issues the worst will be feeding most 300 wsm are stack feed
bolt face will be another change up needed
and the 18.5 inch bbl will be loud and will jump up very quickly a lot of money spent for a unsure out come

Something like a 30/284 Shehane might work for you. The 284 case may still give feeding issues.

Bolt face needs to be opened to a magnum bolt face size. Ejector will have to be replaced. Feed rails likely will need work. You'll need a custom magazine, or rework the one that comes with it. Is it doable? Yes. Will it be expensive? Also, yes, unless you can do your own work. Way, way easier to just. Uy a rifle already chambered in 300 wsm. - dan

Yes, probably most of them. If you can find one in 6.5 Rem Mag or 350 Rem Mag, that would solve your bolt face issues. Might even feed decently. Or buy a Model 7 in 300 WSM/SAUM as the easier option. - dan

That would be the easier solution alright. I passed on a 350 years back because they were out of production and bullets and brass were impossible to get. I still kick myself in the ass for that one.

Brass for both is easy to make. You can use any of the common belted magnum brass. - dan

Ive had lots to do with M600 - 660 actions ! NEAR impossible to do what your wanting - BOLT face first BIG Problem then Feeding problems with the FAT case - Even a 284 is hard to get to feed correctly ! RJ

BUY a factory M7 chambered in 300 SAUM or WSM and go from there ! JMO RJ

You could rebarrel it in a number of cartridges that share the .308 bolt face... To name a few: 22-250, .243 Winchester, 6mm Remington, .250 Savage, 7mm 08, .284 Winchester. The short magazine limits the 6mm Rem, the 7mm 08 and the .284.

I have a 6mm and yes the short mag is a problem. If I load to the lands it is holy #### accurate, magazine length is close BUT
