Anyone have one of these? Thoughts?

I had one in 308 but would prefer a smaller caliber, I liked the rifle itself a lot. I've looked at the VSSFII, but I'm not crazy about the 26" bbl length, 24" seems about perfect.

The 5R has a 1 in 9 twist. Would it still do ok with 45 or 50 gr. bullets, or are we really looking at 55gr. and up only?

I'm an impatient SOB, so I'm not going the custom route, but thanks in advance for the suggestion. :)

my buddie has one, and we've shot box ammo in every thing 55gn and down and it did just fine, got facotry arifle results with facory ammo (3/4-1 moa) deff a nice little gun if thats what your after

id put it on par in every way with the 700 5r in 308

I've got one as well. Great rifle. I've since replaced the HS stock with a McMillan A-5, no other reason than I like the feel better. Shooting 75gr. Hornady BTHP at usually between .5 to .75 MOA, off of a bipod. A real pleasure to shoot. Unfortunately, my son has taken a real liking to it as well...

Love mine, easy half moa with reloaded 52 grain. I like the ability to hold target in scope to see impact.......and easier recoil for high count shoot the chicken nights.
