I have a Remington 700 5r with the stainless barrel (among other stainless coloured pieces). As it comes from the factory.

My question is has anyone cerakoted their 5r and how did it turn out? I'm wornderig if the stainless surface poses any adhesion issues.

I wasn't quite sure where to post this question, so here is where it landed.

If you've had it done - I'd love to see a picture.

I can't recall seeing a 5R Cerakoted but I've seem multiple Defiance Actions Cerakoted and they are stainless. I don't see it being an issue.

There is no issue to cerakote a 5r or any other stainless factory action. If it was a custom with tight tolerances that becomes an issue. But you will be good to go with a factory Remington. I have done lots of them

There is no issue what so ever! We have done this here at our Remington certified armoury. If you like, we can Cerakote your rifle here. Just contact our customer service department. 1 866 682 3003.

Ok sounds good folks. Love the rifle just never been a fan of stainless for any forearm except a pistol :)
I will post a thread when I get this done in case anyone has questions in the future.

Cerakote bonds to almost everything if applied right. Wear and a scratch from the field maybe, but it would take something serious. Everything wears but if your getting chipping, that's a prep application issue.
