Rem 700 6mm to bed or not?

Hello All. I have a older Remington 700 ADL in 6mm Remington. I tried the 5 dollar bil test and there is up pressure around where the front sling swivel mounts.The bill moves freely after that all the way to the recoil lug. I have not shot this yet so I don't know if and how it shoots. Just starting to do some preliminaries .Thinking of using this for a dedicated varmit rifle any other pointers?

For 40 years now I have been glass bedding actions correctly and floating barrels... it is extremely rare where this is not beneficial.

Shoot it first. Then adjust the trigger and bed it, but shoot it first. Otherwise you won't know if it's shooting better or not.
