Rem 700 Actions

Back in the "good old days" (last December), the reasonable price of an SPS made it worthwhile to buy as a donor action for a rebuild...but at today's prices...not so much! Is anybody importing "just" the action?

I have a nice blue 30-06 BDL action and bottom metal. I have trued the action and bolt. 1.5 pound crisp trigger. This is in the EE. Click on the link under my "For Sale"

Rem does not sell actions...if you want to buy just an action Surgeon run about $1650.00 (trued and ready to roll) it's still cheap to buy a doner rifle ( $300.00-$400.00) for the action...it may take a bit of time but you can find them if you look

I'm looking for a Stainless 700 BDL (308 boltface)....with trigger group...hinged floorplate.

Ya I put an ad out for a rem 700 action to do a custom, most peole wanted MORE for the action than a complete rifle. Had to buy a 700 SPS.

I bought a SPS also. Sold the barrel ($85) and the stock ($50).
My gun smith told me that any action would do. He would have to check it anyway, and once it was set up might as well true it regardless.

Besides Guntech's action above (sweet deal, there), there's the Stiller Predator package that I bought from Ian Robertson for about the same as it would cost for a Rem 700 + bottom metal + trigger + truing job.

Of course, if you're not a fan of the "Sako extractor mod", then forget I said anything.
