I know it's a long shot, but does anyone make a kit for the 700 remington that locks the bolt handle down when the safety is on? Love the action otherwise, but it's not great when climbing rocks in thick bush. Thanks for looking.

If your rifle has a walker type trigger, with a safety that does not lock the bolt, the easiest thing to do would be to install the earlier pattern of safety.
If you have one of the new model trigger units, replace it with an older pattern Walker type trigger mechanism with bolt locking safety.

Yes there is a safety replacement that allows the bolt to be unlocked with the safety still on... Brownell's offer it... I forget the name. I have one and it works well..

If you have a newer gun where the bolt does not lock then there is more to it than just the trigger. The bolt does not have the cutout for the safety lever to engage.

I have the same question but for a model 7. Been doing alot of research but havent found a concreate answer. I am like the original poster I really prefer the bolt to lock closed with saftey engaged.
