arrg, I recently swapped out the xmark pro trigger in my rem 700 with one from brownells. the swap seemed to go smoothly but now the bolt release is sticky and needs a bit of help to come back down after being pushed , what might cause this?? the trigger from brownells is also called the xmark but does not have the allen screw threaded into the trigger like the ones with warrenty concerns .thanks for any advice

It can be dirty and binding within the slot in the action.

The lever that operates it can be touching the bottom metal.

Where the lever contacts the the bolt release may not quite engage correctly. A slight bending one way or another.

First thing is to remove the stock and diagnose the problem.

Watched a Brownell's video about installing a Timney trigger on a 700 ADL.
That trigger is a little wider than the factory and may cause some binding on the bolt release and requires removal of some stock material.

Not that I would disagree with Dennis but he did say . . . "First thing is to remove the stock and diagnose the problem".

it still does it out of the stock, the two moving parts work smoothly independent of each other but somehow bind slightly together, action is on its way to guntech for inspection and a trigger tune :)
