Hey guys, looking for some ideas on possible chassis systems to use with the Remington 700, as well as where to buy. I know there is the Tac 21 and the AICS but can anyone suggest others out there? I'm in the process of deciding on which chassis to go with and would like to consider some options before I buy.

Any feedback you can give on any of the chassis sytems is also appreciated.

thanks

XLR, CADEX strike, KRG W3, Mcree Precision, Manners Mini Chassis, JP rifles makes one, JAE 700, Eberlestock, Eliseo... and im drawing a blank, lot's of others though.

Not sure how many of those are available in Canada but I know North Shore Barrels offers the XLR.

I have AI's and really like them, have a krg whiskey 3 and like it as well. Can't go wrong with either, slightly leaning more towards the W3 but I'm biased.

Email Rich at Spartan Precision for an accurate quote.
Over $1000 for the regular one. I'm not sure how that compares to an AICS, but I really didn't have much in the line of options for the Sako m995

surprised no one has mentioned McMillan , huge fan of my A5

I am not an AI fan personally.. but for me thats the only other choice other than Mcmillan. If your going 300 win mag or lighter its pretty hard to beat an A3 with the edge package. I have an A3 sporter with out edge and it beautiful. Mcmillan all the way for me !

Corlanes will import Mcmillan for you for you... Mcmillan will actually ship to Canada as well

Anyone know where one could find a list of final weights for al these different options? Ex: AICS 1.5 plus barrel (say 24" BB) and action = ?lbs. or McMillan plus barrel and action = ? Etc.

Even better I guess, how much does just the barrel and action weigh?

Well a 1.5 AICS bare is 5lbs 7oz just by itself. Depending on the barrel contour. A 2.0 chassis, which is 5lbs 11oz with a Remington 700 AAC-SD with 20 inch barrel is about 11.5 pounds.
An A5 with standard fill and no rails, no adjustable but stock and no adjustable cheek piece is 3.6 lbs. when you add all the things to make it compare able to an AICS adjustability wise, or if you go "sniper" fill instead of standard fill, your going to be around 5-5.5 lbs. You could get with edge fill which would drop the stock to 2.5 lbs ish, but then you can't add the adjustable check piece and such.

I love my MDT tac 21 chassis
