Rem 700 LA & VXIII 2.5-8x36

Holding my VXIII over my newly acquired Remington 700 CDL in 35 Whelen, I see that I may need to do something "special" for scope mounts. Those who know what I'm talking about are who I would like to hear from. A one-piece base is out of the question.

Your input would be appreciated.

I'm assuming you don't have enough tube length. Offset/extension rings/mounts are a solution.

I have seen the Leupold STD mounts and duel dovetail mounts with the front mount on backwards. They also have an extension ring. http://www.leupold.com/hunting-and-shooting/products/mounting-systems-and-accessories/

It might be as simple as turning a base around, or swapping to a base that can be turned. I'd trade scopes before I'd put an extension ring on anything.
