Who's got one and what kind of accuracy out of the box can I expect.

I'm thinking of getting it in .223. Main use will be coyotes and gophers and target shooting. I won't be shooting 500 rds a weekend on a gopher patch, maybe more like 50-100.

.204, .223, .22-250?????

I'm going to buy one as soon as my scope comes in. Help me decide on a caliber
I don't reload YET. But maybe next year.

What would you do.

I would stick with the 223/556 I have a 700P and it shoots 1" @ 100 with rem umc (yellow box) 55 gr FMJ not bad for 5.99 a box;)

I would buy the .223, I shoot the bulk 40 round packs of Winchester from Wal Mart for $18.69 a box. I have a 30 year old Rem. 788 that will shoot 1 inch 3 shot groups at 100 yards with them. A good choice just in case you don't get reloading within the next year.
:D :D

I'd buy the .223 if I was you....

They are nice guns...I have one in a 7-08 that is awaiting a McMillan stock and a full project. Should be a nice rig when done. Its a great shooter, and a nice size/weight to carry right now. The stock is decent, not amazing, but quite decent.

Great guns overall. I was lucky to find the 7-08 up here, but a fellow CGN'er told me about a NIB one at a store....called the next day and bought/shipped it out....

Hope that helps....my 7-08 gets around 1.10-1.25 MOA with factory 140NP's....so I cant complain.

In a .223 I have no doubts you will easily get MOA or less. My 7-08 does very close to an inch, and I'm only shooting factory stuff right now.....

I think it will easily shoot MOA when I'm done....

I've got one in 223.

I sent the trigger to Guntech for smoothing, and bedded it myself.

50gr VMAX and 53gr TSX handloads make small groups, usually wiht several bullet holes touching.

I don't think I've ever sullied with factory ammo.;)
