Hi yall got a 700 223. Sps. Looking to add a chassis kit. Like a tac 21 mdt. Anyone have any experience with them? Are there other cheaper options that are as good?
If you're looking cheaper, maybe look at the HS3? Or if you've got some AR parts kicking around, you could pick up a Cadex chassis for the same price as a TAC21, and most people don't regret going that way.
$739 for a chassis and 20 Moa rail. Tac 21 is $689.
You'll then need a butt stock and pistol grip ,for either one.
And a gun ,of course.
Go on Cadex website, all the prices are there.
Under Commercial.
Cadex has several versions available. You were probably looking at the Dual Strike chassis. Take a look at the Field Strike version or their line of Core chassis. With the Core ones, you can add your own AR butt stock and grips.
How do you like the magpul stock? Its been my favourite looking stock and the price is great, looking into one of these for my 700 ACC-SD .308. I actually really dig the grey, most people go tan or green but this looks great.
+1 for the Magpul with DBM kit. It does the job at half the price. But it does feel like plastic though, so no doubt Cadex and MDT are higher quality in fit and finish.
I went with a TAC 21 on my 700, in .223. No regrets what so ever. Has some weight but I like that to soak up some of the recoil...not that .223 has any to begin with. As well it uses all AR furniture so the muscle memory for me is the same between guns.
