Rem 700 sps conversion

I am interested in the .35 whelen as my next brush gun and I am wondering if anyone has had the .30-06 version rechambered into .35. I am very set on a stainless rifle and google has brought me no results for stainless .35s. If it is easily done does anyone have a rough estimate of cost and work involved? I am wondering if it as easy as just getting a new barrel.

I would think a quality stainless barrel installed on your rifle would cost you from $600 on up depending on the make of barrel and the labour charge of the gunsmith.

Dennis ..... What contour do you recommend for a 35Whelen on a 700 action? Sporter or magnum?
