Rem 700 sps v mods

Im wondering if you can out a detachable on these instead of the hinged floor? got a new varmint and dont like the hinged floor would prefer a mag

Yes, get the 700 DM parts and swap them over (including the stock if memory serves). Might be better to go aftermarket. - dan

I put an HS clip in my 204 SPS. Not cheap @ $300, but well worth it.

the factory detachable is only available for the 08 based cartridges...what caliber is yours?

If my memory serves me correctly, changing to the DM style Remington magazine involves feed rail modification that would render the rifle useless if you ever wanted to go back the other way. Perhaps that is a non-issue, but I know you cannot take a DM model and make it into a Hinged floorplate model, since the action feed rails are basically missing (supplied by the upper lips of the magazine) Regards, Eagleye.

For a DM conversion, you may need to modify the feed rails. With the HS clip, no mods needed as it is a single stack clip. I never had to touch any metal, just install bottom metal and install clip.
