Does anyone have any experience with the 700 stainless sendero?
Are they accurate?Looks like it would make a great long range caliber in the 300 or 338 ultra.
I havent seen any sale prices on these rifles -but might have to look for one.

Remington stopped making the Sendero in 2004. Should be a number of them unsold floating around though. Im sure within a year or so Remington will start production on a similar model.

I had one, a Sendero SF, in 7mm Rem Mag. Shot very well for me, but in a moment of brilliance, I sold it. :D

Nice accurate rigs, and heavy enough to take some of the sting out of the big Ultras.

I've got one in a 300 Win Mag with a few upgrades including the trigger and it shoots very well. Handloading I get .5" to .75" groups @ 200m. I haven't gone past 300m with this rig but plan to in the next couple of months. No plans on selling this one any time soon, I'll probably just shoot the barrel out and convert it into a 6.5-284 if I don't buy a Coyote from PGW first  .

I have one in 300 ultra mag, I like it a lot. Obviously weighs more than your average hunting rifle but not too bad. Lighter than a BDL heavy barrel. The weight and the stock seem to suck up a lot of the recoil and I find my rifle really managable. Actually everyone who shoots it says they thought it would hit harder than it does.

I think Lever Arms in Vancouver still has some. I bought mine from Grandlund sports in Campbell river for just under $1300, they were the only ones that had one in stock at the time. That was 3 years ago I think.

They are accurate, I only shoot factorys right now and have no problem with sub MOA accuracy. They have an aluminum bedding block in them and that helps with accuracy.

I don't regret buying mine one bit, and always enjoy dropping animals in there tracks

I have found a new stainless fluted sendero in 300 ultra for $1079 +gst
I take it thats a good deal?

thanks

I have one in 338 Ultra Mag and it is an awesome rifle, not bad for recoil either with the bit of extra weight of the longer barrel. The 300 Ultra you found is a good price, especially considering that Remington doesn't make them anymore. Buy it now or you will regret it later when you can't find one. I bought mine from Granlund Firearms as well, Karle was the only dealer willing to look for a 338 RUM Sendero for me and he found one, great service from a great guy.

I agree, pretty expensive for them to make. HS Precision or B&C stocks, heavy stainless fluted tube...lotsa $$

Sounds like another corporate blunder for Rem. Sometimes you have to offer that high endish stuff at a break even cost to dominate the market. Although it seems more likely that for the price it had people looking at the European competition or customs...
(once again, pure supposition... hey, it's all I've got! )

I got my 338 RUM Sendero for $1169 and with the power and accuracy of this rifle I feel it was well worth it, the only alternative would be custom rifles in this caliber with similar options like the 26" satinless fluted barrel and composite stock with the aluminium bedding block. The stock alone is US$325.00 in Brownells catalog which converts to about $380.00 in our dollars. We have a steel gong at our range set up at 200 yards it is about 12" in diameter and about 3/4' thick, I let a guy from work try my 338 RUM and he knocked the gong right out of the chains that hold it up.

338 ultra has some pretty wild potential. TOo much for me though, I sold mine before I even really used it.
