O.K. so I've read a bunch of posts about guys bringing down the trigger pull on Remington 700s so I have to ask....how hard is it to do this and what type of improvement should I expect if I have it done?

Is this something that requires a gunsmith or can any joe-blow do it?
Wouldn't want to fool around with this if it's going to risk screwing up my rifle, it shoots great now as far as I can tell. ;)

BTW, it's a 700 VS

I wouldn't suggest trying it yourself. I got mine done for $40, so you have to ask yourself, is it really worth screwing up for $40? Also, you can only take it down to about 3lbs. with the factory trigger or it becomes unsafe... at least that's what my gunsmith told me.

700 triggers aren't hard to adjust. I used the instructions on the post above by JohnC a few years ago. As long as you follow the instructions, you shouldn't have any problems.

"J-lock" does not make a difference for the trigger adjustment but you might want to remove/replace the firing pin assembly.
