Rem 700 VTR .308 Mag Conversion

Hi All,

I just picked up the aforementioned 700 VTR in .308. I've seen that there are conversion kits out there (expensive ones, at that), but I don't know if they'll fit my model per se.

It's my first bolt action, so I don't know if there are major differences in the 700 line that would make it not possible to fit a mag kit onto my VTR.

Questions:

1 - will existing rem 700 mag kits fit onto the VTR?

2 - What price range am I looking at?

3 - Any that do 10-rd mags?

Any info would be appreciated. I did a search here, but I don't know what kind of action I have, and it seems these kits won't fit every 700 action.

I have an HS precision set-up in my BDL 22-250. It has 10 round mags too.

It was expensive, I think $250 (with the mag).

I have an extra HS trigger gaurd, but don't have a mag for it. Not sure where you get them anymore, I got them from Midway USA years ago.

There's other ones too; Badger Ordinance, Accuracy International to name a couple. Search the precision rifle forum, there's lots of 700's there with mag conversions.
