Rem 700 vtr muzzle break

This might sound like a dumb question. I have a vtr in 204 cal its a great shooter but is there anyway to silence a muzzle break without removing it?

Machine a sleeve to fit over it?

That's about it really... Only problem is that the VTRs have that stupid triangular barrel, so it would need to be a 2 part sleeve that bolts together. You are better off removing it if you can, or just double plugging your ears.

Shouldnt be too hard to do. Would that affect the accuracy?

It will effect the harmonics of the barrel (adding or removing weight) and if you're hand loading may need to refine your load again

If the brake is integral with the barrel a cut and crown would be necessary.
Easiest solution is just to use good hearing protection.
