REM 700 XCR II LRT in 300WM or the Sendero SF II in 300RUM

Either one is more than you need to off a swamp donkey, 300WM will be easier to get ammo for in remote locations if the need arises. That would be my choice for a hunting caliber.

In my opinion they are not worth the price asked in store... The finish, stock and barrel are nice features, but it does not outshoot the cheaper 700 models. (my opinion is based on owning the actual gun)
 
Why so much money? I'd simply get a Tikka T3 in stainless synthetic. I run mine under the tap when I get home to clean off blood and muck, and I don't have to coddle it like fine furniture.

Fine stocks and tolerances are an anathema to me whan it comes to hunting. Both your choices are good, with the XCR haveing an edge with cleaning and keeping good looking.

My XCR Tactical in .308 Winchester shoots just fine, "BUT!!", the Remington quality control sucks!
when I purchased mine, I found the back two threaded action/scope base holes were drilled to the left of center!
So much so, that i had to use burris rings with inserts "and" the leupold type of rear adjustable (for windage)!!! This allowed me to offset the back ring enough to keep my scope opticaly centered. Thats allot of di*€king around!
Other than that, I really like the rifle!
 
I would get the senduro. pretty much the same gun for less money in a more potent caliber. I like the Idea of the tikka, more bang for your buck. I would opt for a .338 of some sort for moose, but Im a real .338 fan.
 
another thing you might consider is the winchest M70 weather warrior. Not a heavy barrel but you get a stainless, fluted, CRF rifle in a bell and carlson stock for under $1K. they are really a good bargin.
 
You're not going to find a nicer finish on a production rifle today than what's on that XCR LRT.....and that's why you're paying extra $$ for the rifle. That black trynite coating (or whatever Rem calls it) is really-really-really nice. Also I'm quite happy with the quality on mine. That being said I've noticed that the XCR's have went up in price over the last couple of years so maybe today it's not your best choice if you're on a budget.
 
Thank you guys, order has been placed for the Rem XCR II LRT in 300 Win Mag. I love this one to but the 300 RUM was the only consideration for the Sendaro anyways for the extgra punch, i had a 300 WSM in the past and made quick work of dispatching bears. They never seemed to compained about the 300 mag. lol Thanx once again. Happy shooting.
 
I just got a 300 ultra sender sf2 not to long ago for $1100 to my door, new. I have worked up a load for 200 gr accubonds shooting .4 at 100m at 3168 (3fps es). Very happy with it. Gl with your purchase.
 
Lots of buzz on the interwebs about the barrels in the XCR LRT's being a fluke. By fluke I mean they are AMAZING and shoot like a house on fire. Everyone I know with this rifle has been absolutely floored by it's performance.

My XCR LRT 300 was shooting strings out of the box with handloads. Always touching groups. Never bedded it, or did anything at all. I'm extremely happy.
 
Shot an XCR in 300 WM last hunting season, it was very nice. We were only at 100 and 200 from the prone but still got some very good groups, I'm not going to say sub MOA or anything like that but an excellent shooting rifle. Not bedded and I dont think it had the 40X trigger, just a Leupold ballistic reticle and Federal 180 gr. The owner shot 2 deer with that rifle last season. You will be happy with it for sure, I think you made the right choice.
 
Hey I bought the Rem 700 XCR Tactical in a .308! I had the stock bedded and a bigger bolt knob put on, also brought the trigger down to 3 lbs all from alberta tactical (amazing guys btw)! It is so much fun to shoot and so dead on I am sure I have nothing to do with the accuracy other than pulling the trigger! work of art and I highly recommend the rifle! The stock has a great feel and the gun preforms flawlessly! I say GO FOR IT!
 
buddy a mine picked up an xcr in 300 rum and hot damn that thing is a cannon lol shoots amazingly accurate. and didnt kick that hard at all.
