Rem. 700 XCR stocks

Same injection molded plastic stock they use on the regular SPS rifles, only it has rubber on the grips. They call them Hogue overmolded grips, but only because they used Hogues' method of attaching the rubber onto the stock. They are not a Hogue stock...
 
It's not a terrible stock though...I have never had a SPS so I can't compare, but my 700 XCR stock was about the best available factory composite stock out there for a lefty when I bought mine...feels decent and is stiff enough not to be a problem. No it's not a custom $500 stock, but it is fine for hunting, plus I really like the trinyte on the actions, it's really not a gimmick, it repels water and moisture like a coating of oil...in fact of the factory offerings currently available, the XCR is the only one I would be willing to buy from Remington.
 
I hate it. I can't believe Remington puts them on the XCR line of rifles. I would rather see the overall price go up a couple hundred bucks and have a descent stock come from the factory line.

Further ahead buying the SPS, an H-S, McMillan, etc and having the coat added later. Less expensive than starting with an XCR where most guys will junk the stock as soon as it comes home.
 
My XCR stock didnt last long before it started to crack.
I have a B&C Medalist on order right now to replace the Remington tupperware stock.
