Rem 700P (MLR) Spare Mags

Anyone know of a source (if there is one) for spare mags for the MLR in .338LM?? I read something along the lines that AI makes the mags for it but are under licence from Remington blah blah blah and they have to therefore be bought from Remington (and apparantly noen are to be found??)

Also of note, the Rem 700 MSR can take 10rd 338LM mags. Not sure if those mags are also AI and if they would be compatible with the new 700P 338LM (which takes slightly different mags than the old MLR).

the Remington mags are made by Accurate Mag Products it was an oem contract and they will not sell you one. You have to go through Remington or wait for AI C.I.P. mags. AI mags won't work in the C.I.P rifles. The new C.I.P Mags is what will fit the remington 2nd generation .338 and Savage. Not sure if the C.I.P. mags are out yet from AI. You can read for an hour or so on another more sniper oriantated site all about this. the info I posted is from posts in the thread by Accurate mag and the american distributor for AI.

The AI mags will NOT fit an MLR.
We have a few mags for the MLR in stock and are importing them from Accurate once the permits are approved.

Sorry, to clarify, do you have mags for the Gen1 MLR or the Gen2 700P 338 LM ? If the latter, are they Accurate/Remington mags ?

That's a very good point, I almost forgot that the 700 MLR is a different model from the newer 700P.

I have the 700P and the mag looks like this.

The Gen 1s used HS Precision, the Gen 2s use Accurate/Remington
We have a couple of the Gen 2s as supplied by Remington.
They AIN'T cheap as being supplied by Big Green

Remember if you eventually go to an Ackley Improved chambering, then the rounds won't fit in an Accuracy International mag since the 'ribs' running down the length of the mag (see post 8) will be in the way of the new shoulder. HS seems to make the best mag for the .338 AI

... and I will pay big bucks if anyone wants to make/modify some higher capacity (5-10 rnd) mags to fit the HS bottom metal.

Accuracy international mag is just about good for Single round loading.
