So the scenario is:

you're walking down the side walk a 1980's dodge pickup, covered in Primos stickers, nascar numbers, and rust stops and a large man in a wife beater drags you into the cab. fearing pig squealing sodomy and forced consumption of budwieser you move not, as he shouted, and go along for the ride. you soon find yourself in a trailer, some place in south western ontario, tied to a rocking chair. the toothless wonder demands you come hunting with him, lest he has his way with your virginal anus.

he throws you a blaze orange vest, and wants to know....

"Do I take-um this here SKS or muy remmie 710?"

make the choice! (and why?)

I leave for Guiding in an hour or so, when i get back in 10 days I want to see an toughtful discussion the merits of 710's and SKS's :D

SKS does what it was designed to do: Be reliable and give battlefield accuracy, feed, fire and extract every time. Plus, they have a bayonet when you want to stab someone.

710 was designed to be an "affordable" hunting rifle. They are usually pretty accurate.....As for feed, fire and extract everytime? Forget it.:runaway:

I installed a peep sight on my SKS and won a military match with it. My deliberate scores were not as good as some other rifles, but my snap and rapids were a breeze. I had the top agg.

Not bad for a $99 Chinese SKS.

(The sight is worth a lot more than the rifle. Used a Central)

This sounds like one of those UFO abduction stories. If you substitute Elmer for the 710 and Hank for the SKS and change hunting to a night greased up and strapped to a tree and I think you will know what Phib is talking about. I AM NEVER GOING TO PARTY WITH YOU MAN!

I choose the 710 and hope to god it blows up in his face. Lord knows i would never shoot one!!! I'd rather have an Eaton's Carcano over that POS - and that's saying alot!

The 710 is a POS and you would get laughed at for having but showing up to the hunt camp with an SKS would get you banned and likely horse whipped.

Give me the 710 over the SKS any day.

You're comparing a farm tractor with a boat anchor here, the only time I'd ever even consider touching a 710 would be if I need an anchor for the boat when going fishing.
