Hey all!

Have a question. Can the safety from a factory Rem 721 or 722 be removed and installed on the older Rem 700 “Walker” trigger? I want to upgrade the trigger on both my 721 and 722 with a Walker I have but would rather mill away some of the stock to make the 721/722 safety work rather than milk away party of the tang on the receiver to make the 700 safety work

Thanks for any help.

Make sure that you have the dent ball spring installed on the safety pivot pin correctly prior to & after installation of the mutant E clip.
Then visually inspect the spring piece is laying flat against the safety lever from looking at it from the aft end while operating the safety.

If the detent spring piece is #### eyed it is positioned/hung up in the mutant E clip groove & positioned improperly.

Option #2-
Purchase & install a bottom safety trigger group.

Man I wish I knew about option 2 two years ago before I altered my McMillan stock to fit my 721! Thanks for your post.
