So I have a new 7600 with a loose barrel. I'l be sending it to a remington repair centre tomorrow if I can get one to answer the phone.
Thing is I can see the barrel extension bolt. Which is what appears should be holding barrel assembly tight in place. It looks like all I have to do is remove the slide tube and slides and then it would just be a case of tightening up the action tube?
However I can't see what keeps the slides in the receiver after taking the forestock off.
Is this really a job for a smith? Can anyone help?

thanks,
warren

No need to send it back ........ Those bbls are easy to take off.

That tube under the bbl is actually a long bolt that tighens up on the lug on the back of the bbl. It should have four holes on it near the receiver. Just take a Robertson or Philips screwdriver that will fit closely into those holes and tighten it. I put the screwdriver across so it engages two opposing holes. If you wanted to back it out a bit more and add a drop of lock tight, that would help too.

You are fantastic. And I am retarded. As soon as I read your post I thought, why the hell am I trying to take the slide tube off.
