Rem 870 barrel

Remington did not stamp date codes on barrels prior to 1968 they discontinued the marking between1999 and 2000. I am looking at an 870 barrel with no markings. How can I tell if it is an old one or a newer one? Thanks

Earlier barrels were generally lighter in profile than later ones - if it is heavy enough for RemChokes it's probably later...
