For the longest time I thought I was short-shucking or something similar but I recently sat down and took the time to see what was happening. When I rack my shotgun - once or twice out of 10 rounds - the front of the round catches on the right side of the chamber. I have to retract the slide a touch, then it will slide into the chamber and feed properly. Doesn't make for a quick, smooth launch of 4 or 5 rounds. I've tried different shucking the pump in different ways (leaning the gun this way and that, pressure on different sides of the pump) but the problem's still there. Anyone had this before?

You need to explain just abit more....are you talking about the round coming out of the mag then going into the chamber? or coming out of the chamber or dropping it in the ejection port and cycling the action?

You may have a out of alignment shell carrier, a malfunctioning feed latch or a bugger extractor that is somehow affecting the forward ovement of the action.

You would be able to take a picture of the problem could you?

thanks Ike for the pm comments. It is a standard receiver for 2 3/4" (nonmagnum) with a factory barrel.
It is irrelevant whether the round comes out of the mag or I drop it in the chamber, the same problem presents itself. I personally think that I like the idea of an "out of alignment shell carrier". That makes the most sense to me from my observations. The round catches on the right side of the chamber as the round enters the chamber (when you look at it and the extractor cut is at 3 o'clock). So if this is the case, what would be the case....a little love from a set of pliers?
