I am not familiar with this model gun, other than loading and shooting it.

This particular one has a problem. When I try to pump it, it only strokes half the way and then hits something inside.

The gun has a side saddle on it. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

You could try taking the side saddle off and seeing if that alleviates the short stroking.
Check to make sure one of the shell latches hasn't broken and is interfering with the travel of the bolt.

Sounds like the screws for the side saddle are to tight pinching the action together and binding something up. Did it wok before you installed the side saddle?

The 870 is a very easy gun to take apart. Check Youtube for vids on it, and I'm sure you'll have no problems. Once you have the trigger mech out, you should be able to see what is wrong.

Sell it/melt it/run it over with your car/explode it/shoot it out to space/bury it in cement/feed it to a goat.

Buy something that starts with a B

/end of remington problems.

In ALL seriousness, I agree to take off the side saddle and then try again. If that doesnt work, take the trigger group out and see what happens, basically just keep taking apart major components (and putting back on) testing functionality every time (hope that makes sense). You might want to be wary though, if you've never shot it and don't know where it came from there could be other stuff wrong I suppose. Just give it a thorough inspection to confirm integrity before you fire it I guess... if none of this works, you can take your pic from line number one.

My 2 bits are it wasn;t put back together all the way. You need to spread the cartridge stops so the arms will slide in.
