Hey guys, i had some real play in my wood forend on my 870. I just took it all apart and noticed that the wood grip wiggles back and forth and has a fair amount of play. Has anyone just tried gluing it in place with some strong adhesive (i would glue all around the splintered area)? I am open to ideas, thanks! I've attached a photo.

good suggestion, i had make shift tools and couldn't get it any tighter (will get the proper stuff to try again tomorrow). You can see the small gap between the rails and the wood grip.. i am thinking the nut wore down the wood enough that its just loose enough to slop back and forth when you torque it with your hand between the two rails.. i could also fill that gap with something i suppose.

Take some hockey tape and run them length ways. Slide the stock back on.
Add another strip until you get it to the snug fit you want.
