I was able to search this gun earlier and read a bit but darned if I can enter the right search terms again to read some more.
Anyone use or want to comment on this firearm. I am looking at getting one in .35 Rem. I've heard heavy and good kick., but they just seem nice. Is maintenance and parts an issue?
Thx:)

Can't say for the Model 81 but the 8 is quite light, the one I have is but it is a 25.
Short almost carbine length guns. In chatting with a few guys they sound to be finicky once in awhile but if kept clean and treated decent they do their job.

PM Canuck, he is the most knowledgeable guy on these ones that I know of this side of the border.

With everything mechanical that goes on when one goes off, mine is surpriseingly accurate! They don't "kick" hard in the traditional sense, but they do bounce around on your should as the barrel cycles back & forth.
My M-8 is also a .35R but was a virtual clone to the M-81 in .300S I had except for the pistol grip.
It's also heavy, & a pain in the butt to load & unload:cool:
The Take-Down system is quite functonal thou :)
