What is the difference between a rem sps stock and the hogue stock for the sps?? Is either one an improvement over the standard wood bdl stock??

this should probably be in a Rifle section...but the Hogue stock on the SPS tactical is a rubber overmold. so it's softer than a plastic stock. I have the SPS Tact. and have no problem with the stock

:agree: I also have an SPS-T. The rubberized overmold stock is very durable when rested against an improptu rest. Also, the grip of the rubber is quite good when wet.

If I'm not mistaken the the SPS-T with the Hogue stock has a free-floating barrel unlike the SPS-V (or others similar). The plastic molded stocks have pressure points on them which could affect the harmonics of the barrel, some more than others. You'll get more consistency out of a free-floating barrel = better accuarcy IMO.

Cheers
