I just picked up a Rem 700 VTR in 22-250. After doing some searching about it it would seem the stock is the weak point on the rifle. Aside from the discussions about the barrel shape, what can be done to the factory stock to improve it? Replacing it would be the ideal but what other alternatives are there?
