nice spiker? I have never seen a mosin with that color stock in person, congratulations.
Congratulations on your first buck. Lots of good meat/memories there.
Back in 1978 International Firearms got in a few hundred M91/30 rifles with WHITE birch stocks without knots or visible grain. All of the rifles were minty with matching numbers on every part. The contrast between the white wood and black metal finish was unique and pleasing. All of the rifles came with dog collar slings and matching bayos with black leather scabbards. Beautiful things. The stocks almost looked like they had been bleached. There was a very thin coat of some sort of clear wax that gave them a matte appearance but they were smooth as butter. I bought two of them. I don't remember what I paid for them but they were very underappreciated back then so it likely wasn't much. I kept those rifles for years without doing anything to them other than making sure they were clean. The way you finished your rifle is similar but the oil in the wood has stained it. Still a nice rifle and buck.
Thank you very much !!Nice deer! Cool setup!
Indeed it is... rockin' das DDR !!Is that an East German Field Cap that you're wearing?
Unfortunately not... the Lada needs a new starter... which I have ordered.Did you use the Lada to haul that bad boy home? (Hopefully strapped to the hood?)![]()
