here are some pics of my new 700 VTR in .223 Rem.
The base is a tactical EGW rail with 20moa, quick release rings from Leupy and Falcon T35 scope.
Thanks to the adjustable trigger it will break at 2lb. now...
I'll give it a try @ the range first and if necessary I'll give the stock a bedding.

Thats a very sweet rig. I have the SPS varmint in 223 and couldn't be happier with it! My next toy for it is a bi-pod, hopefully that will better my bench shooting a little.
 
I took mine out to the range today. It shot about a 4" group at first. I took it home and free floated the barrel and tightened the screws then took it back. It shot a 1.5" group. This with #### umc 150 grain fmj ammo. I feels very good. The compensator works very well. You can see the holes in the target as they appear. There is no real reduction in recoil and no noticeable increase in noise. Overall I am happy. The gun should respond very well to some minor tweaking.
