Reminder: Ontario Moose Draw Deadline May 31

Where can I get a moose tag? I am not close enough to a MNR to buy one. Lebarons sells them in markham maybe, so could I drop off there tonight and then call in around 8 pm?

Why??? You dont need to have pre purchased a tag to call it in. Infact if you have bought a paper tag from a store you are out of luck for the call in sysytem.

Just call it in if you want in the draw this year because you are to late to mail it in.

Also, just to clairfy something. If I don't get into this draw and get a tag, I can't go hunting for moose at all or how does it work?

If you dont make the deadline for the draw or simply buy a paper calf tag you can still hunt but only for calf moose. (Not including the few WMU's were a draw for calf tags is also in effect.)

how far are you from Aurora. they have an office at 50 Bloomington Road W.

Yeah Aurora is close but I didn't get off work until 8 pm so I am SOL this year.

I guess I will just be calf hunting this year

Starting this year, Ontario's information/turistic booths... the ones you see along all major highways will sell tags and such.

For this year's draw, if you'd like to keep being in pool 1, or for first timers- to get in the pool with the chance to uprgade next year, please use the phone system.

buying the tag and mailing it is not good enough, as you've already exceeded the time limit.

You can only call it in IF you buy your tag over the phone. If you go and buy a tag, you can't submit via phone. Your only other option is to drop off your entry at an MNR office.

You need an up to date Outdoors card, money for the tag, and you need to know what area you are going to be hunting in so that you can fill out the application correctly.

Reminder #2.... You can (and IMHO should) do it by phone.

Moose has the codes required to apply for the moose draw.
Deer has the codes required to apply for the deer draw.

Call 1-800-288-1155 and have your Outdoors Card and a Credit Card handy to go with the required code (as found in the .PDF on the website).

Damn that 3 dollar phone change I guess screws up the buying a tag from crappy tire. No draw entry for me this year. Maybe I'll just have to go up to 16A where i'm almost guaranteed a tag even in pool 2.

I got home at 11:40 and I called and I am in the draw for a bull at wmu 42

Man I was waiting all day to call in but I just didn't have time.
