Does anyone know the real story of what happened to the Remington 105 CTi? That's the one with the skeletonized receiver with the carbon shell and rib and that loads and ejects through the bottom.
There are stories on another forum about high return rates to the factory due to feeding and extraction issues. Other rumors are that Remington has stopped making them until they can fix the feeding and extraction issues, and retailers refusing to sell them anymore.
I was in London this week and was told by a certain store that they are not stocking them any more and don't recommend buying one of the ones that are already on the market. The suggestion was that I wait until the new ones (after Remington figures out how to fix the problem). They currently had one in the shop that had been returned, and Remington factory wouldn't tell them what to do to repair it.
Oh, and by the way for the conspiracy theorists out there.... I don't believe that it was just a story to get me to buy something "in stock". They didn't even suggest another shotgun. They simply suggested that if the 105CTi was what I really wanted, then I should wait until production problems resolved.
Does anyone (especially the dealers out there) know if this is the real story, or is there something else going on???
I saw one post that said that if you can find one with a certain serial number or higher, then it should be OK as the problem has been fixed for the NEWER ones.
