Remington 11-87 20ga

My brother just picked up an 11-87, are there any gotchas to watch out for with them?

Not really. The O-ring lasts a long time but does need to be replaced, maybe every 10 years or so. Otherwise the easiest way to keep it functioning is to use a synthetic CLP in the gas system and on the magazine tube to make cleaning incredibly simple. Traditional oils will quickly cook into hard carbon, avoid them.
