Hey guys, although this question might be better asked in the gunsmithing forum, I suspect more 11-87 users are here...not there. In my limited research, this isn't an altogether rare issue with 11-87s. Which is unfortunate. So basically~here is the story;

11-87 Supermag/camo bought used early in the fall of 2015. A few duck outings, a couple dozen rounds of trap~the usual fare. This past Sunday, we patterned the gun with a turkey loads, Federal and Winchester 3" Long Beard. No issues. An hour later, load-up with #7-1/2 target loads to take on a pigeon problem at a friend's farm, first shot and we hear "ping"...and see the latch on the ground. Upon inspection, we saw that the pin it pivoted on had sheared-off. Retainer clip gone with it, latch recovered. The gun belongs to a good friend who is not a web guy, nor has he ever had to have a gun serviced...so I've spent the last couple of days firing-off emails, making a few calls. (local gunsmith I trust, Gravel Agency, etc.) The only smith I found who said he could do it has about a 3 month lead time.

Wondering if anyone here has had the issue, knows of a qualified gunsmith who's done this repair and the gun functioned right afterwards, who could do this pre-turkey season, the cost, etc. I'm in the north end of the GTA (as is my buddy) near Newmarket. I welcome any ideas/suggestions etc.

Thanks!
