I notice a lot of people looking for a Remington 1100 barrel (myself included) I am just wondering why so many 1100 owners have barrel issues. Was there some sort of factory defect for certain model years? Or just user errors? Or is it just wear and tear?

Or maybe they're looking for a barrel with a specific choke for the type of shooting they're doing. Trap, skeet or sporting clays.

What issues are you talking about ???
My 1100 barrels are original from the 60's and have shot a lot of rounds and there is nothing wrong with any of them
Please clarify
Cheers

Many of the older 1100's came with a non-ribbed barrel which isn't ideal for trap or bird hunting. Of the ones with ribs, many were fixed full choke which can't handle steel bb's. A new 1100 barrel straight from remington (with a rib and remchokes) comes to almost $500 after taxes and only comes in 2 3/4. I'm guessing people are looking for ribbed and fixed modified barrels or newer ribbed barrels with interchangeable chokes.

Question. What is your issue?

The issue is " the sky is falling"...
Many reasons to buy a second barrel, such as instead of fixed chokes they have barrels with rem chokes or the 30 inch full choke plain barrel is not needed and a vent rib factory modified will better suite the duck blind or a 26 inch for the skeet field.
But, I like "the sky is falling " theory myself. :)

Well i own 3 1100s and 5 barrels and i guess you have two accounts? Since i quoted the op and asked a question to him or her. I was making the point "everyone has the same issue you have. We love the platform but we all like options"

Dont get twisted brother. I like you and i like your posts. But never feel the need to answer for someone else on here. We all like to answer for ourselves.

And depending on the issue maybe i could help him out.

Rob. Yer such a ####ing beauty. I thank you for the help you hav given me. Sometines i search aa question an in posts i search i find the answer and its you answering it.

I am a sky is falling type.... Or a "prices going up type" but... You know just as well as i do... Never hurts to have a spare.

I have amassed 3 1110s now. Ones a magnum and is my dedicated waterfoul/turkey gun. Another is a deer/coyote if close up. And the last... Shes just for fun.

But. I am about to chop a full choked ribbed barrel. Down to 18 and then cerakot it. So i asked what the problen was as for a (always fair) price i may be able to help. I dont like wrecking the oldschool stuff. Im not a purist. But... Some thing are better passed on then to be sent to the block my friend.

And i know man "ammassed" lol. I probably didnt even spell it right. But i know my 1100s. I love em. I got three and all they need is minimal maintence and they can be ran hard.

And you know... They. Sky may not be falling.... But it never hurts to be prepard lol.(also some of us like the 1100) You got knowledge. I thank you for your assistance and opinions over the years.

So. Op. Whats the deal? What ya looking for and why? My advice is the same as others. Just buy another 1100 as its usually the same proce as a new barrel.

I first 1100 was off here. Real nasty chopped down barrel. 450. Second was at the hacs gun show. Our big gun show in BC. Got an 1100 with a skeet and deer (non rifled 20 or so inch rifle sight) barrel for 500. Recently just got an 1100 magnum from reliable for 550. Newer with chokes.
