Remington 1100 barrels and steel shot

My understanding has been that the critical point for steel shot in older barrels was choke (MOD or more open is fine for steel). Now I see replacement barrels with Rem-choke for a 1100s, some say steel, some don't. Is there a difference?

All my chokes for the 11-87 say steel/lead, even the full choke. I think it may also have to do with the forcing cones in the barrel, older ones may need to be lengthened to reduce the taper.

If you got screw in chokes , use the modified for ducks, and geese. Can also use full if using smaller than #2 shot
