What are the 1187 Supermags like today. I bought one many years ago when they first came out and it would not cycle light loads even with the special add on kit in it and it kept jamming when I used 3 1/2" loads in it.
I was told they have had problems like this until probally the late 90's but are different now.
Feedback please from guys that use them. Any idea what has been modified in the later guns.

That seems like a lot of gun for the price. I have a 1187 involved in a potential trade deal which is why I am asking about the 1187 to see what they are like today. I had first hand experience with them when they came out but I am hearing that is not the case any more.

I have a 11-87 special purpose super mag that works great with everything from light loads to 3 1/2" loads. Some days i leave my Beretta extrema 2 at home just to give myself an excuse not to sell it. My hunting partner has the 11-87 sportsman and it works great too but he has to remove the gas ring to fire heavy loads and put it back in for the light skeet loads.

i had a supermag as well for a short time and traded it of becoues of the weight . thy are on the heavey side . i never had a fail to fire or jam ever she did shot good and would make a great water fowl shotgun . just not for the kind of walking i do with a shotgun DUTCH

11-87 is junk, junk, junk,

Now now that is not 100% true. I have had a few premier 3" and they work just fine.It is the 3 1/2" I am not sure on since I had one bad experience but many, many years ago. I was told at the gun shop they changed designs in the late 90's but cannot find out so far what is different.
