I purchased what i thought was a remington 121 .22
LR on the weekend.

However with further research and the fact that the bbl had been replaced
I have come to the conclusion that it is indeed a model 12 made around the time of the first world war, 1916-17ish.

The rifle is registered as as 121 but the stock and serial
(which bring another question of whether
I should even atmpt to correct them or if it will just bring me headaches
)# shows production 374618 in which they ran from 000000 to 700000 before the 121 was introduced.

Any help here with confirming my
ID
?

I noticed on the physical pump in the diagrams some show a small metal tab sticking out of the short physical wood pump handle and this is consistant with the 12 but mine does not have this?

The serial
# alone should have identified it as a model 12 but why wouldn't the former owner or the registry catch this
?

any help
?
I can send pics to anyone who is a self admitted semi expert and can tell me for sure.
