Have what I think is a Remington model 141 in 35 cal. Is in decent shape, definitely been used. Serial # is c 41286. Anyone have any idea how old this gun is and approximate value?

Thanks in advance.

Great rifle and an even better woods cartridge. Made from 1936 to 1950 when it was replaced by the 760. They made around 77,000 of them altogether. Yours was probably made in the mid 1940's. There should be a two or three letter code on the barrel indicating month and year produced. You can google the Remington Society for your year of production. If it is in decent shape you can get $500-$600 for it as in .35 chambering they are sought after.

Both my dad and my uncle hunt with one. I bought my dad's for him for Father's Day about 20 years ago and I paid $450 for it. Nice rifles.
