Remington 308 7600

I just inhereted my step dad's 7600 308 after he just suddenly passed, I like the rifle
Only got out a few times with it to target shoot.

Here is a pic of it. It has a bushnell banner lite site scope on it. As u can prob tell I don't know much about guns yet.

Any idea of its value? By the serial # it is 5 years old.

5 years old Not in your life if unaltered and with the rings holding that vintage scope I would say mid 80's for the entire set up
Remington stopped fitting that style wood in mid 80's
Put a 3 in front of that 5 so like 35 years old
Value $500 to $550 for a 308

I'd say it's highest value is it's sentimental value. Take it hunting and make some memories of your own with it.

yep. I have a first year 7600 (1981) that looks identical.

Go by the 2 digit barrel code, not the serial #.

See through rings on a Rem pump rifle, that is the epitome of Eastern Canadian fudd gun! I mean that in a positive way. Very nice little rifle, as others say $550ish, rings and bases and scope don't add too much value.

If I were you I would keep it and hunt with it. I can't stand see through rings though.
