So i picked up a #2 Remington Smoot,Thats a lie I picked up a couple .I love the look of this tiny little pocket pistol.Downside is that it comes in 32 Short rf.Well its bigger than a 22.I picked up a 32 reloading kit and some long brass not thinking I would end up getting 32 short.I trimmed the cases enough to allow for my 90 gr flat nosed bullet that I bought a mold for.Cast a whack of bullets and finally got around to giving it a go.Loaded up 1 bullet with FFFg and a 22 cap.Off I went with a piece of cardboard. You have to line up the 22 blank or it wont fire,Carefully loaded up,Set the 12" square target at a wopping distance of aprox 8 ft and fired. It went bang,Nice little crack with a bit of whoomph.Collected my target and found a nice little 32 cal sized hole in it,Yeah the round didnt tumble!Took it back to the house as a trophy. When I got home I realized that the round did not punch thru the tape on the back of the cardboard.Hhhm thats not good .Is it really that weak.Who needs body armour when you have packing tape.At this point Im really disappointed.Paid too much for the pistol plus 200 for the mold ect.Time to check penetration.Back out to a scrap pile of wood,Loaded up again aprox 8ft distance,Pointed and whoomph off she went again.Cool little hole thru a thin piece of ply,the hollow core door behind it,and a 3/4 "piece of ply behind it denting the next piece of ply.Recovered a slighty mushed bullet and headed back home.So a bit stronger than a souped up airsoft, very cool.So now Im collecting #2 Remington Smoots.I have a couple of 38rf Smoots and a #4 thats in 41rf.Im selling off the 38s and the #4 to help buy more #2s.Even Bought a collector book to read up on them.LOL.Anyways that was my Saturday.Have a good one everyone.Dave
