what stock is on that rifle? i looked on remington's law enforcement website and they have what appears to be a McMillan a-5 stock with a detable mag. What gives? . Does somebody know?

The same HS Precision stock as on every other 700P rifle.
According to Remington HS will not be offered on many of the 2010 rifles, they are going with B&C instead. I am thinking partly on account of cost, as well as overall quality

Yeah, mine came with the basic HS Precision stock (¾" recoil pad) and detachable 3rd mag.

It's the 700P MLR, which doesn't appear anywhere on their website these days.

not any of those. In their law enforcement catalogue on page 11,it shows a a-5 with a det mag. It is part of a system. you order it through the custom shop . model is Remington 40-XS LR 338. Order no. is 27249. It is not on the custom shop website but is in their catalogue. Go figure, you would think that their websites would be up to date

So, the question IS, will the MSR be available to the public or is it just for the military to play with? Anybody hear anything about that 'cause damn.....I need one of those.

remington 40 xs LR 338 Lapua

I recieved a call this morning from Woverine Supplies and they said they could get that rifle for $4500 Cdn. Remington did not say how long it would take to ship it to Canada.

If you want to drop that kind of coin, you would be better off having a custom .338 built. Check out Alberta Tactical Rifle, Rick has built some kick-ass rifles that are true custom rifles and you get to choose what you want, not what the bean counters at RemingtonLE think you should have.

As for Remington opting for more B&C stocks over HS Precision, they must have rocks in their head! I've got at least a half dozen heavy bbl 700s with HS Precision stocks. I had a couple with B&C stocks and had to get rid of them. The B&C just feel cheap and less substantial over the HS Precision. I think this will be a decision that will come back to bite them in the arse.
