Remington 405gr Core Lot speed

Yes, in the days where volley fire was still a sound military tactic... lots of animals have been killed with a 22lr, including large grizzly. Doesn't make it a good choice...

I wasn't aware that animals had gotten significantly tougher - is this about to devolve into a bear defence thread??? I've shot a couple pretty big black bears and a deer or three with those ballistics and a hard cast 415 FN, I guess they were unaware that it wasn't supposed to work...
 
Im guessing that load is trap door safe, very mild indeed. Would still take game nicely up to around 150 yards and then you would need a tang site for 'volley fire' lol.
 
It's interesting that the two moose I shot while living up in FSJ, one at about 85 yds. the other at about 50yds. seemed to die with the Rem. factory load just as fast as the ones I shot with my 7mm Rem Mag. The factory load is fairly similar to blackpowder loads it is supposed to replicate and I killed moose with muzzleloaders too.
