Good day all. I just purchased a 1967 Remington 552. I need help with the trigger. It was shooting fine until I cleaned it. When I went back to the range it would only shoot one at a time, and wouldn't cycle, and then the trigger didn't engage.

I removed the trigger at home for inspection. I can manually #### the hammer, however connector does not drop to allow the trigger to work. I have to manually push the connector down in order for the trigger to work.

Any thoughts for those who own a similar gun?

Do you mean you cleaned the trigger group? If so, I'd say it was reassembled incorrectly. There is a youtube video covering the tear down of the trigger group. If not, disassemble the gun and make sure none of the parts are bent or missing ie: did you take the bolt right down to pins and springs? If so, there are some very tiny pins, seating stems and drifts that could have gone for a walk. Reassemble putting the trigger group in last. It should fit in place with the take down pin holes lined up without using any force what so ever. The Speedmaster is one of my favourites but the downside is it's a PITA to do a general cleaning.
